Bert Davis is a passionate filmmaker with a deep appreciation for the art of storytelling. His fascination with cameras began early, and his interest in film took shape after taking an Adobe photo and video class in high school, sparking a lasting enthusiasm for the craft. Known for his friendly and lighthearted personality, Davis enjoys surrounding himself with good company. In his free time, he can often be found watching movies, experimenting with film photography, and exploring new music.

Throughout his time at Penn State, Davis actively sought opportunities to refine his craft and grow as a storyteller.  He contributed to the CommAgency Video Department as the Production Executive and Movin’ On as the Creative Director.  Davis also gained experience on yearlong projects such as Good Company as a production assistant, Frail Grounds as first assistant camera, and Hanging Up The Hat as director of photography.

Davis is drawn to documentary filmmaking for its fluid and unpredictable nature, where interviews can take unexpected turns, shaping the storytelling process in real-time. He enjoys the challenge of adapting on the spot and determining the best approach to filming. Davis appreciates a guerrilla-style approach to filmmaking—embracing a run-and-gun method to visually capture stories and moods in a dynamic, immersive way.

Davis holds deep admiration for the creativity and talent of the team. When Liana Simmons first approached him about joining the crew and shared who was involved, it was an easy decision. Working alongside such a passionate group was an incredible experience, and Davis is confident that their dedication will be evident in the final result.
